New York, October 10, 2008 — To support its growing international customer base, Humanscale has opened a showroom in Hong Kong. The new showroom is Humanscale’s first in Asia, and is an important part of Humanscale’s international expansion.  International sales comprised 23% of the company’s total sales in 2007, a figure expected to increase in 2008.

Located on Central, Hong Kong’s Hollywood Road—the first road to be built in the Crown colony in 1844 and a hub for fine art studios, interior design companies and furniture showrooms—the showroom on the 24th floor of the Kinwick Centre has many industry neighbors including Steelcase, HOK and the American Institute of Architects. The building is adjacent to the Central-Mid-Levels escalators—the world’s longest outdoor escalator system.

In a space that was formerly occupied by HOK, Humanscale’s Hong Kong showroom highlights how the company’s ergonomic seating and office tools work together to promote healthy and comfortable work environments for computer users, including those in compact spaces—a challenge for many Hong Kong offices. Sustainability is also promoted with work spaces designed to demonstrate dual-lighting environments, and displays focused on Humanscale’s broad range of highly sustainable workplace solutions.
