New York, April 23, 2007 — The Humanscale Switch Mouse has earned a Gold EID award in appliance DESIGN magazine’s 20th Annual Excellence in Design Competition. Humanscale’s T5 Point-of-Care Technology Cart was recognized with a Bronze EID. Designed by the Humanscale Design Studio, both products will be featured in the June 2007 issue of appliance DESIGN.

The Humanscale entries were judged by an independent panel of industrial design experts based on appearance, human factors, innovation and technical merits. Organizers say the winning designs demonstrated attention to details and innovative approaches that sharply differentiated them from competitors. Another common element found among the recognized products was the ability to make technology more accessible to the user.

The Switch Mouse is a revolutionary new mousing solution that brings unprecedented ergonomics to computer users. This groundbreaking peripheral device offers two new innovations—a patented V-shaped base, which minimizes wrist pronation, and a navigation dish that reduces muscle activity while allowing users to scroll in all directions. Additional features on the optical Switch Mouse include size adjustability for a custom fit, symmetrical design for left- or right-handed use, a built-in palm support to encourage safe wrist postures, and five programmable buttons.

The T5—a mobile technology cart for the healthcare industry—combines ergonomic comfort and mobility with a high-performance power system to facilitate mobile computer use in healthcare environments.
