Humanscale to Debut ZŌN® Max Air Purifier at IH + HS
Revolutionary Air Purifier Uses Patented Technology to Produce Expansive “Clean Air Zone”
NEW YORK — Humanscale will debut its groundbreaking ZŌN Max air purifier at the International Home + Housewares Show (IH + HS), March 10-13, 2012 in Chicago, Ill. As a new addition to Humanscale’s innovative ZŌN line of air purifiers, ZŌN Max uses patented technology to produce a larger targeted “clean air zone” around multiple individuals in open indoor areas.
The Environmental Protection Agency has identified indoor air quality as one of the top five most urgent environmental risks to public health, and data shows a clear link between health and the air people breathe. The American Lung Association says that asthma and breathing problems account for approximately 24.5 million missed work days each year and that half of the U.S. population is breathing unhealthy amounts of air pollution.
Most current air purifiers fail to address indoor air pollution adequately. Designed to clean entire rooms by re-circulating clean air, traditional air purifiers can be ineffective in the large spaces where the volume of air is too large to clean effectively with portable units. Adding HEPA-quality filtration to HVAC units can also be costly, inefficient, noisy and require frequent and expensive filter replacement. In addition, traditional electrostatic precipitator devices have the potential to produce excessive ozone, which can harm the lungs.
Like its predecessor (the ZŌN personal air purifier), the larger ZŌN Max employs patented DEP technology to provide clean air to users in an innovative way. It directs clean air to exactly where it’s needed: where the user breathes. With research indicating that most people spend their time indoors in specific areas, creating a targeted clean air zone around multiple users is the most effective way to deliver pure air in an expansive space.
ZŌN Max’s breeze-free, virtually ozone-free and nearly silent operation allows it to be placed discreetly near users—in any open indoor space, such as a conference room, the living room or even the garage—to ensure that they are breathing the cleanest air possible.
Tremendously energy-efficient, ZŌN Max will meet ENERGY STAR requirements and features a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of more than 400, placing it among the highest-performing products currently in the consumer air purification industry. Removing the vast majority of airborne toxins and contaminants, ZŌN Max utilizes a tightly coiled paper filter that has more surface area for collecting dust and particles than any other air purification method. And for even greater sustainability, when the paper filter becomes saturated, it can be easily vacuumed clean and re-used or recycled with other paper products.
ZŌN Max features a sophisticated White finish and will be available in Q3 2012. For more information about the ZŌN line of air purifiers and revolutionary ZŌN technology, please visit www.zonairpurifier.com or call 800-400-0625.
