NEW YORK, November 21, 2008 — To help support Humanscale’s global customer base, the leading manufacturer and distributor of office furniture in Australia has strengthened its partnership with Humanscale by adding a production assembly line for Humanscale’s Liberty chair.

Schiavello, a top 200 privately owned Australian company, is now assembling the Liberty chair at its Melbourne production plant after exclusively distributing Humanscale products in Australia for the last decade.

Established in 1966, Schiavello is internationally renowned for manufacturing, engineering, researching and designing intelligent workplace systems. With a product line that includes partitions, workstations, seating and storage, Schiavello enjoys a 35% share of the office furniture market in Australia and has been a perfect fit for Humanscale’s range of high-performance ergonomic accessories and seating.

Schiavello has four ISO 14001 EMS-certified manufacturing facilities, including a 764,244 square-foot international headquarters and manufacturing plant in Melbourne, and showrooms in almost every capital city including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra.

This manufacturing move is the first partnership of its kind for Humanscale and will greatly facilitate distribution of Liberty in Australia and New Zealand, cutting the lead time for the award-winning chair from 14 weeks to just two weeks. Liberty chairs assembled by Schiavello will carry a “Made in Australia” label.
